Buddabadah finally breaks maiden status

Patience proved to be a virtue for Yass trainer Allan McRae when Buddabadah broke through at Albury on Thursday (September 3).

Buddabadah, a seven-year-old son of former Kooringal Stud stallion Zariz, notched his first win at his 26th race appearance with Simon Miller (pictured) in the saddle.

It’s been a long wait for McRae, who took Buddabadah to Forbes for his debut more than four years ago.

Buddabadah had previously managed 11 placings, including five in succession early this year.

The bay prevailed at Albury by only a nose, with less than a neck between the first four horses across the line.
